Here’s how you can use Change Agent to conduct opponent research and analysis.

Step 1: Gather Information on the Opponent

Collect publicly available information about the opposing party or organization, including their website content, social media posts, press releases, and public statements.

Step 2: Upload Relevant Information to Change Agent

Upload relevant information about the opponent to Change Agent. This can include text from their website, social media posts, or press releases.

  • To upload the information as a file
    • Click the β€œ+” symbol to the left of the prompt window
    • Choose your file
  • Β To load the information from a webpage
    • Copy the entire URL (NOTE: if the URL is for a Google Doc or other cloud service, make sure that sharing is set to β€œAnybody with the link”)
    • Type β€œ#” into the Change Agent prompt window and paste your URL immediately after the β€œ#”
    • Click on the gray dialog window that says #[URL] to load the information

Step 3: Prompt Change Agent to Analyze the Opponent

Provide a baseline prompt such as “Analyze the opponent’s stance on [SPECIFIC ISSUE] based on their public statements and website content.” Regenerate the answer at least five times to explore different analysis options.

Step 4: Review & Refine

Choose the analysis that provides the most insight into the opponent’s position. Ask follow-up prompts to refine the analysis, such as “Compare the opponent’s stance on [SPECIFIC ISSUE] with our own party’s position.”

Step 5: Identify Vulnerabilities and Opportunities

Use Change Agent to identify vulnerabilities in the opponent’s argument or areas where they may be open to criticism. Also, look for opportunities to highlight your own party’s strengths and policy proposals.

Step 6: Finalize and Utilize the Analysis

Review and finalize the analysis, then use it to inform your campaign strategy, messaging, and decision-making.
